Wasabi Mayonnaise Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 100 g Japanese mayonnaise
    (see recipe in the basics)

  • 1 to 2 teaspoons real grated wasabi
    (adjust according to desired intensity)

  • 1 drop of lemon juice

If you don’t have fresh wasabi:

  • 1 teaspoon wasabi paste from a tube
    (often made from horseradish)

  • (Optional) 1 tablespoon hot water
    (to loosen the paste before mixing)

Preparation:

  1. In a small bowl, loosen the wasabi (fresh or paste) with a little hot water if needed.

  2. Add 1 teaspoon of wasabi to the mayonnaise.

  3. Stir in the lemon juice.

  4. Mix thoroughly, taste, and adjust the wasabi amount to desired heat.

  5. Chill for 10 to 20 minutes before use to allow flavors to develop.
